๐ช For parents
Does my kid need an account to play?
No. Kids can play right away as a guest; progress is saved in that browser only. Make a free profile for them if you want progress kept on every device and their Progress page.
How do I add my kids?
In Parents & teachers, make a grown-up account, then Add a kid: pick a made-up nickname (tap ๐ for another), an animal, and their grade. You can add up to 4 kids.
Why can't I use my kid's real name?
To keep kids safe: other kids may see a nickname on a leaderboard, so we only allow made-up ones. Even our database refuses real names.
How does my kid play as themselves?
On a device where you're signed in, tap Who's playing? at the top and pick them. On their own device, turn on kid login on their card in the Parents area: they get a username and a 4-digit PIN to log in with ๐ Log in.
My kid forgot their PIN, or it's locked.
After 5 wrong PINs, kid login pauses for 15 minutes. You can set a new PIN any time on their card in the Parents area; that also signs them out of other devices.
Why does the Parents area ask for my password again?
You stay signed in so kids can play and save, so the Parents area locks itself 10 minutes after you type your password. That way a kid can't change profiles. Press ๐ Lock and go to Math Town to lock it right away before handing over the device.
Where do I see how my kid is doing?
In the Parents area, open your kid's Progress: this week, what to practice next, every skill with its status, recent rounds, and questions they missed (with the right answer).
My kid played as a guest before. Can I keep that progress?
Yes. The first time you pick a kid on that device, we offer to copy the guest progress into their profile (once per device).
What are groups and leaderboards?
A family, club, or class group lets kids cheer each other on. In the Parents area, make a group and share its code, or type a code you got. Kids see each other's nickname, animal, and points this week on the ๐ฅ Leaderboard, nothing else. Leaderboards start over every Monday.
My kid's teacher gave me a class code. What happens if I join?
Type it in Join a class or group and pick your kid. We show exactly what the teacher will see (skills, right and wrong answers, questions missed, time, by nickname only, from today on) and ask you to agree. You can Stop sharing or leave the class any time.
Should my kid work above their grade level?
They can: nothing is locked, and kids can pick skills from any grade in the skill picker. Questions also adjust on their own inside each skill (3 right in a row makes them harder, 2 misses makes them easier, across 5 levels), so a strong kid gets harder questions without changing grade. We suggest going deep first: Strong in their own grade's skills (the Progress page shows which), at the higher levels, and the story problems, before moving ahead. The school-year order (โNext upโ in the skill picker) shows what comes next.
My kid finds it too easy. How can they be challenged?
A few ideas: pick next grade's skills; aim for 3 stars at the top level; try the Daily Challenge (one scored try a day, the same puzzle for everyone in their grade); take a Test Practice for their grade or the next one; and dare family or friends with a challenge link or a live race. If your kid is in a group, the ๐ฅ Leaderboard and team goals add some friendly competition.
My kid finds it too hard.
That's okay: after 2 misses in a row, questions get easier on their own, and a wrong answer always shows the right one with a hint. Try Practice or Maze Quest (no clock), turn on read-aloud in โ๏ธ Settings, or pick an earlier skill from the school-year order.
Is it really free? Are there ads?
Free, with no ads in the games and no way to spend real money. Coins are earned by playing and only buy fun things in Digit's House.
Can kids chat with strangers?
No. There's no chat at all. Kids can share challenge links and race friends with a code, but they never message each other.
How do I delete my kid's information?
Delete their profile on their card in the Parents area (it asks first): everything saved for it is deleted. To delete your whole account, email agarwalmath@gmail.com. See our Privacy Policy.
How long should my kid play?
A few rounds a day works well; the Daily Challenge and daily quests are made for about 10 to 15 minutes. You decide what's right for your family.
๐ซ For teachers
How do I start using it with my class?
Make a free account in Parents & teachers, choose I'm a teacher, and make a class in ๐ซ Your classes. The Teachers' Guide walks through everything.
Do I need my school's permission?
For class profiles, yes: you confirm your school (or parents) allowed it. For kids who join with their parent's home profile, the parent agrees themselves. We can sign a data privacy agreement; email us.
How do students get in?
Families with a home profile type your class code in their Parents area and agree to share. For everyone else, make class profiles and print login cards (scan the QR code), or turn on the picture login for 30 minutes to 4 hours (students go to /class, type the code, and tap their animal; they're logged out when it turns off).
Do I type my students' names?
Never. Profiles get made-up nicknames. Keep your own paper list of who is who. Reports have a Name line you fill in by hand.
What can I see about each student?
Their math practice since they joined your class: this week's numbers, skills by status and Common Core standard, who needs help, recent rounds, and missed questions. Not a parent's email, and nothing from before they joined.
What does 'Needs help' mean?
A student gave 5 or more answers in a skill this week and got under 60% right. It's a nudge to check in, not a grade.
Can I assign work?
Yes: ๐ Assignments on the class page. Pick up to 8 skills with due dates; students see them in Math Town. A skill is done after 10 answers in it.
How do I stretch advanced students (or support ones who are behind)?
Questions adapt within each skill by themselves. On top of that, assign skills from the next grade (or an earlier one) in ๐ Assignments; every grade's skills are open to every student. The class page's Strong and Needs practice columns show who is ready for what.
What is a login card?
A printed card for a class profile, with the student's animal, nickname, and a QR code. Holding it up to a tablet's camera logs them in, so young kids don't have to type anything. It's a key, not the account: the profile and all its progress live on our site, not on the card.
A student lost their login card.
On the class page, press New card next to their nickname and print it. It's the same profile: the student keeps their nickname, points, coins, badges, and all their progress, and you still see all their work. Only the old paper card stops working (so whoever finds it can't use it).
A parent stopped sharing. What happens?
The student stays in your class list as โnot sharingโ, with no numbers. If they share again, you see practice from that day on.
What happens at the end of the year?
Print reports you want to keep, then delete the class. Families' kids keep their own progress; class profiles are deleted. Class profiles nobody plays for 400 days are deleted automatically.
Does it match what I teach?
Every skill is tagged with its Common Core standard, and skills follow the school-year order of a widely used curriculum (Eureka Math). Use By skill on the class page to see standards.
๐ง For kids
How do I play?
Tap Play, then pick a place in Math Town and a skill. Answer questions to race, battle monsters, blast asteroids, find treasure, and more.
How should I answer the questions?
Read each question carefully (tap ๐ to hear it). Use paper and a pencil if it helps. Stuck? Tap ๐ก for a hint. Getting one wrong is okay: you'll see the right answer, and that's how you learn! In Practice and Maze Quest there's no clock, so take your time.
Why did my questions get harder (or easier)?
The questions change to fit you! Get 3 right in a row and they get harder; miss 2 in a row and they get easier. There are 5 levels in every skill, and we remember your level for next time.
Can I try harder math, like the next grade?
Yes! In the skill picker, tap a higher grade and pick any skill. Nothing is locked. And the more you get right, the harder the questions get, in every game.
I'm really good at math. How can I challenge myself?
Try to get 3 โญ at the top level, play next grade's skills, beat the Daily Challenge every day to grow your streak, dare a friend with a challenge link, race friends live with a code, and collect all the badges in Digit's House!
What's the Daily Challenge?
One puzzle a day, the same for every kid in your grade. Your first try counts, so do your best! Finish it to earn coins and grow your Daily streak, and share your result card with your family.
What's the Leaderboard?
If a grown-up added you to a group (your family, class, or club), the ๐ฅ Leaderboard in Math Town shows everyone's points this week. It starts over every Monday, so everyone gets a new chance!
How do I open more places?
Earn points to level up! Monster Caves and the Frog Pond open at Level 2, Space Port and Digit's Bakery at Level 3, and Maze Forest at Level 4.
How do I get coins?
Play games, finish your daily quests, and try the Daily Challenge. Spend coins on hats, pets, and decorations in Digit's House.
How do I log in?
Tap ๐ Log in and type your username and PIN. At school, scan your login card or tap Log in with your class and find your picture.
What's my login card?
At school, your teacher may give you a card with your animal, your nickname, and a square code (a QR code). Hold it up to the tablet's camera and you're logged in! Keep it safe: it's like a key to your stars and coins.
I lost my login card or forgot my PIN.
Tell your teacher (for a card) or your grown-up (for a PIN). They can make you a new one in a minute, and you keep everything: your stars, coins, badges, and level are all still saved. You can play as a guest while you wait.
Can I talk to other kids?
Not on this site: there's no chat, to keep everyone safe. You can race friends with a code and dare them with a challenge link!
Can the questions be read to me?
Yes! Tap ๐ next to any question. In โ๏ธ Settings you can have questions read out loud every time.
๐ ๏ธ Everyone: problems and questions
Which devices work?
Any recent browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox, on computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and phones. Nothing to install.
My kid's progress disappeared.
Guest progress lives in one browser, so it's gone if browser data is cleared or on another device. Pick the kid's profile (Who's playing? or kid login) to load their saved progress. Profiles save automatically, even after being offline.
There's no sound, or read-aloud doesn't speak.
Check โ๏ธ Settings (sound effects and read-aloud), the device volume, and that it isn't on silent. Read-aloud uses your device's built-in voices; you can pick another voice in Settings.
A link or code doesn't work.
Short challenge links (like /c/K7M3Q2) last 30 days; live race codes about 2 hours; group and class codes until the owner makes a new one. Codes don't care about capital letters.
I didn't get the confirmation or password email.
Check your spam folder, wait a few minutes, and make sure the address is right. Still nothing? Email us.
How do you keep kids' information safe?
Made-up nicknames, no chat, no ads, no selling data, and parents control everything. Details in our Privacy Policy.
How do I report a problem or a wrong answer?
Email agarwalmath@gmail.com and tell us what happened, which page, and the time. A screenshot helps. We read every message.
