For schools
Effective: October 7, 2026
agarwalmath is a free K–5 math practice site: games and lessons in the order schools teach math (Common Core), with class tools for teachers. This page is for principals, district technology and privacy staff, and anyone reviewing it for school use. Installing it on school devices: For IT admins. How teachers use it: the Teachers' Guide.
1. At a glance
- Free for schools and families. No ads, no in-app purchases, and no upselling to children.
- No student names. Each student is a nickname the site makes up (like “Blue Tiger 42”), an animal picture, and a grade. The database refuses real names. Teachers keep their own list of who is who.
- No student accounts or emails. Students log in with a printed QR login card or by tapping their picture while the teacher has picture login on.
- No chat and nothing students write that others can read.
- Data in the United States (the United States (Oregon)), shared only with the three service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
- Deleted on request, and automatically when it's no longer needed (see Keeping and deleting data).
2. What we store about students
- The made-up nickname, the animal picture, and the grade.
- Practice: each question (made by the computer), the student's answer, right or wrong, time taken, difficulty, the Common Core standard, and whether a hint was shown.
- Game progress: points, coins, levels, badges, streaks, and settings like sound and read-aloud.
- For class profiles: a login card code; the class it belongs to; assignments.
- Short-lived technical logs kept by our hosting and database services to run the site.
We don't collect students' real names, photos, voices, birthdays, addresses, email addresses, or schools, and we don't use analytics, advertising, or social-media trackers. Teachers have accounts with an email address; the class name is whatever the teacher types (like “Mrs. Lee's Grade 2”). Full details: What we collect.
4. What we never do with student data
- Sell or rent it, or share it with anyone except our three service providers.
- Show ads, or use it for advertising or marketing of any kind, including to parents.
- Build profiles of students for anything other than showing their own progress to their teacher and parent.
- Use it to train AI.
- Keep it after the school asks us to delete it.
5. Data privacy agreements
We're happy to sign the Student Data Privacy Consortium's National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA), including Exhibit E, so other districts in your state can join the same terms without starting over. We'll also review your state's or district's own agreement. Email agarwalmath@gmail.com with your district's name and the agreement you use.
6. Keeping and deleting data
- A teacher can delete a class profile, or the whole class, at any time; everything saved for it goes with it.
- Class profiles nobody has played for 400 days are deleted automatically.
- Answers and rounds are deleted after 2 years.
- A school can ask us to delete any or all of its students' information; we do it within 30 days (from backups too).
The full schedule is our retention policy.
7. Security
Every request is checked by the database's access rules, so a teacher sees only their own classes and what parents share. Everything travels over HTTPS, PINs and passwords are stored only as hashes, and every time someone who runs the site looks at an account it's recorded. We keep a written security program and review it every year: How we protect information.
